Overview
We start our 126th season with a wonderful concert which will showcase a variety of musical styles and treatments of the joyous church staple – the Magnificat. From Pergolesi to CPE Bach, via Vivaldi and Mozart we will track the development of music itself in the baroque and classical periods from pure, angelic delivery of the words to a full blown masterful musical work in its own right, with some extra Mozart added simply because we can!
The resonant acoustic of St Nicholas’ Church provides just the right setting for what promises to be a fascinating journey through the earlier years of classical choral music.
