Light in Winter – Sacred Masterpieces of Vienna: Haydn & Mozart
Join us for an evening of classical sacred music featuring Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Credo Mass in C Major and Joseph Haydn’s Mass in B-flat Major.
Performed by the Choir and accompanied by The Sevenoaks Philharmonic Orchestra and four soloists, this program brings together two distinct works of Austrian sacred repertoire: Mozart’s direct, energetic setting from his 1776 Salzburg period, and Haydn’s late 1799 work written for the Esterházy court. The program highlights the contrast between Mozart’s concise, motif-driven Credo and Haydn’s symphonic orchestrations and fugal movements.
