Overview
For our spring concert Sevenoaks Philharmonic present an evening of French choral music contrasting the ethereal beauty of Gabriel Faure’s 1887 Requiem with Maurice Durufle’s setting written shortly after the second World War in 1947. Both Requiems embody a sense of optimism for the hereafter distinguished by their differing musical treatments.
To further illustrate these composers’ musical capabilities we complete the programme with two short works new to the Choir – Faure’s Cantique de Jean Racine and Durufle’s Ubi Caritas et Amor.
Numbered/Reserved seats. Interval drinks will be available in the bar in the lower level foyer.
